Wadena Fire Department extinguishes brush and tractor fire

May 16, 2020 | 9:19 AM

Fires have started to increase with the warmer temperatures.

The Wadena Fire Department responded to two separate incidents on Friday, a brush fire and a tractor fire.

A tractor was fully engulfed in flames in the afternoon before crew members extinguished it. The fire didn’t spread further.

Late in the evening, a brush fire grew to 30 acres in size. Members were on the scene for more than three hours to control it. The fire isn’t described as accidental.

The Wadena Fire Department reminded residents that local fire bans are in place and extreme dry conditions exist.
