Jun 15, 2015 | 8:35 AM

Quarterback Tino Sunseri was among the first cuts for the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday.

The team cut 11 players before the first CFL mandated cut-down deadline.

Sunseri struggled in Saturday night’s loss, while first year Rider quarterback Brett Smith went 5/6 passing and a touchdown. Sunseri threw the team’s lone interception in the game and also was unable to shake the pressure coming from the Eskimos defense.

The other players released were:

RB Terrance Cobb
DB Darwin Cook
LB Eltoro Freeman
LB Joash Gesse
OL Terry Hart
K Denton Kolodzinski
OL Michael Phillip
DL Ryan Wellman
K Cody Thornton
WR Eric Thomas
The Riders also announce quarterback Noah Picton will return to the University of Regina, while junior players Matthew Halbgewachs, Matt Kozun and Evan Turkington will also return to their junior teams.

The final cuts for the Roughriders will be made next Saturday after their pre-season finale against Calgary on Friday, June 19.
