RCMP seek answers after messy canola spill

Nov 1, 2017 | 12:00 PM

The Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for the person responsible for a messy spill in northeast Saskatchewan.

Sometime between Aug. 30 and Sept. 30, a person driving a grain truck dumped spoiled canola onto grid roads in the Rural Municipality of Arborfield, near the town of Arborfield.

As a result of the spill, one vehicle was forced to swerve around the mess, but hit the ditch and sustained $2,600 damage.

The RCMP don’t know for sure how much canola was spilled, but estimate it could have been as much as 1,500 bushels.

Arborfield is located roughly 70 kilometres northeast of Melfort.
