The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) announced their weekly award winners Monday, and two Nipawin Hawks were named.

Josh McDougall, 19, was named the defenseman of the week. He had a pair of third period goals versus Melfort Friday night cuing the Hawks’ comeback win and added a pair of assists in that game as well. The Prince Albert product earned another point against Weyburn last Tuesday.

He leads all SJHL defensemen in scoring with 33 points. McDougall didn’t play in Flin Flon Saturday, as he is currently in Calgary attending the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge Team Canada West camp. Eight other SJHL potentials are also taking part.

Hawks’ forward Brandan Arnold was named runner-up for player of the week, he compiled five goals and three assists in a trio of games. He sits ninth in the SJHL scoring race.
