Tisdale council moves funds for public works shop

Dec 12, 2017 | 10:30 AM

The town of Tisdale approved the transfer of $300,000 from reserves to cover the remaining cost of a new public works shop during council’s meeting Monday.

The estimated $800,000 project is a major upgrade from the former building that council has been looking to replace for almost three decades. The construction was approved in the 2017 budget. Chief administrative officer Brad Hvidston said they have been tucking money away to pay for the project.

“Over the past number of years we’ve been putting money away through reserves to pay for the shop once it comes,” he said.

Six months ago, the town transferred $450,000 from a reserve fund to pay for the first half of construction, this second transfer will cover the final bill.
