Wakaw Sask.’s Linden Vey named to Olympic hockey team
Linden Vey from Wakaw, Sask. will get to wear the maple leaf at the Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Hockey Canada named its Olympic men’s hockey team Thursday and the 26-year-old, who currently plays for Barys Astana in the KHL, made the cut.
Linden will join a number of other Canadians who play in the KHL and in pro teams across Europe as the NHL did not allow its players to participate in the 2018 Games.
Vey was a member of the Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames before landing with his KHL team in Kazakhstan.
