Two Melfort residents were taken to hospital Saturday after being exposed to carbon monoxide.

The Melfort Fire Department responded to a home on Babington Ave. at around 10:30 a.m. after the carbon monoxide alarms were activated. The residents were immediately evacuated once emergency crews arrived.

Two firefighters entered the home searching for the source, which was found to be in the basement. SaskEnergy was contacted and also responded to the scene. Crews ventilated the home and SaskEnergy confirmed the residence was safe to enter.
