Jan 15, 2018 | 1:00 PM

Sentencing for a Nipawin man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter is delayed until later this year.

Danny Brian Crate, 33, was scheduled to learn his fate for his role in the death of 57-year-old Charles Francis Letendre today, however the defence requested a pre-sentence report. The report will examine Crate’s upbringing and history with particular attention to his Indigenous background.

The crown prosecutor and defense confirmed a joint submission, however, sitting Judge Inez Cardinal instructed Crate she is not bound to the agreement.

Sentencing was rescheduled to March 14. Crate remains in custody.
