Hawks shoot down North Stars

The Nipawin Hawks continued their torrid pace, gliding over the Battlefords North Stars 4-1 Friday.

Nipawin started strong on the road as Jake Tremblay opened the scoring just 42 seconds into the game, his 10th goal of the year. Battlefords tied the game near the 12-minute mark of the first frame before Melfort product Logan Casavant notched his 13th goal with four minutes left in the first period. 

Casavant’s goal from Austin Mikesch and Chad McCartney stood as the game-winning tally.

McCartney added his 11th goal of the season late in the second period making the score 3-1. Tyler Adams chipped in with his third goal in the final period from Brandan Arnold, capping the scoring.
