Hawks hold off Humboldt; Schmidt’s heroics gives Mustangs a win
The Nipawin Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead Friday against Humboldt before eventually holding on for a 4-3 win.
The victory extends the Hawks’ point streak to 30 games.
Jordan Simoneau scored twice for Nipawin, which sits first place overall in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League standings with 82 points, four up on the Battlefords North Stars. Simoneau said the dressing room is a lot of fun during the streak.
“It’s great in the room right now, continuing the streak is really nice,” he said.
