Fire in the Star City area destroys garage

The cause of a blaze that engulphed a garage, camper and bunkhouse structure in Rural Municipality of Star City is unknown.
The Melfort Fire Department responded to the residence just after 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18. The blaze started in a garage and spread to a nearby bunkhouse and camper that were located next to the garage. The camper and bunkhouse were damaged by fire and heat. The garage was a total loss.
The Star City public works department assisted at the scene to provide water for the fire department ensuring crews didn’t need to return to Melfort to refill.
