Nipawin Hawks’ defenseman Josh McDougall is up for top defenseman as well as most valuable player. The Prince Albert product has 15 goals and 49 assists in 49 games played. The North Stars’ Layne Young and Estevan Bruins’ forward Zach Goberis are the other two MVP nominees.

Nipawin’s Declan Hobbs is one of four nominees for goaltender of the year. The 19-year-old Saskatoon product leads the SJHL with a 1.91 goals-against-average and a .930 save percentage. Kindersley’s Justen Close, Weyburn’s Arik Weersink and Melville’s Colby Entz are the other candidates.

Melfort defenseman Loch Morrison is one of three players nominated for player of the year. The Prince Albert native is second to McDougall in scoring from the blueline. Morrison has 18 goals and 39 assists in 49 games played. Young and Goberis are also nominated.
