Peter A. Beatty re-elected as Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation Chief

The incumbent candidate for Chief of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation has been re-elected.

Peter A. Beatty garnered nearly 1,800 votes in the final tally, roughly 650 ahead of Karen Bird, the next closest candidate.

Shavonne Custer gathered 723 votes, Jason Linklater earned 523 votes, and Tom McDermott collected 193 votes. At the end of counting, 48 ballots were spoiled.  

Chief Electoral officer Randy Clarke confirmed the numbers. He said the list of winning councillors will be sent to the media on April 12.
