Fire consumes Transwest Air hangar

Apr 16, 2018 | 6:35 AM

A spokesperson for Transwest Air told paNOW damages could be in the millions of dollars following a fire at Transwest Air’s hangar at the Prince Albert Airport Sunday night.

The Prince Albert Fire Department responded to a report of a small fire in the airport at 11:24 p.m., but crews were unable to enter the structure due to what they called “heavy fire involvement and early structure collapse.” Patricia Hughes, who is in charge of business development and marketing for Transwest Air, said the building was no match for the fire.

“The building is quite an old wooden structure … it was consumed quite quickly,” she said.
