Melfort looks for feedback on future development

May 10, 2018 | 2:00 PM

The City of Melfort is looking for ideas as it works toward a new community development plan.

The city is hosting an open house today to get input from residents on future development options within the community. The City of Melfort is working with consultants at Crosby Hanna & Associates to create a new 20-year community plan to replace its basic planning statement, which has been in place since 1996.

City Clerk Heather Audette said the hope is to finalize the new plan by the end of this year.

“One of the big questions the city has is where is it efficient and less cost expensive to expand, particularly servicing both residential and commercial,” Audette told northeastNOW. “It’s really important that we have community feedback on, particularly, policy development within the plan.”
