Piatti scores two as Impact win 3-0, hand Orlando sixth straight defeat
MONTREAL — It hasn’t been often this season that the Montreal Impact could say they played well at both ends of the field.
So putting up three goals and keeping a clean sheet felt good for the Impact, who used two goals from Ignacio Piatti plus an own goal to defeat Orlando City 3-0 on Wednesday night.
It was only the second win in the last seven games for Montreal (5-11), but a second straight at home, while Orlando (6-8-1) lost a sixth game in a row.
It’s also the first of back-to-back games between the Eastern Conference clubs, with the rematch June 23 in Orlando.
