The Rural Municipality of Nipawin has a change just a few months before its next election.

Mark Knox, the R.M.’s reeve, handed in his resignation effective June 26, according to an announcement released this week.

Ashley Lonson, the municipality’s director, told northeastNOW Knox cited personal reasons for his resignation and felt it was time to move on while leaving the municipality in capable hands with a bright future.

“He mentioned he was going to miss sitting on council,” Lonson said. “He’s been here for 11 years.”
