UPDATE: Teen boater located deceased

UPDATE: The RCMP underwater recovery team has located the 15-year-old deceased yesterday evening around 7:20 p.m.

Police are not identifying the youth.

Members of the Turtleford RCMP detachment are on scene near Kopps Cove as they search for a missing 15-year-old who fell from a boat yesterday and did not resurface.

A media release from the detachment said other passengers from the boat were not injured.

The search team is working in conjunction with officials from the Ministry of Environment, the Provincial Protection and Response Team, and the RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team.

Members of the public and the media are being asked to stay clear of the search team’s area, to allow emergency workers to perform their duties.
