Transmission structure fire leaves thousands without power Thursday

A transmission structure fire is being blamed for a widespread power outage that extends north of the Battlefords to areas such as Meadow Lake, Beauval, Buffalo Narrows and La Loche, leaving thousands without electricity today.

When Karson, Ryane and baby Jasper Evanovich moved to Nipawin from North Battleford in March to begin their new lives with the Nipawin Apostolic Church, it was both exciting and scary for the young couple.

SJHL to decide future of playoffs

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has a conference call planned today to determine how they will proceed with the remainder of this year's playoffs. The SJHL playoffs were postponed after the tragic accident involving the Humboldt Broncos Friday.

You couldn’t help but notice the huge smile on Ashley Howard’s face as she officially brought the female curling ceremonies to an end Saturday afternoon at the Saskatchewan Winter Games.

Team Saskatoon was all smiles after capturing the gold medal in the men's curling final Wed. at the Sask. Winter Games in North Battleford. The Saskatoon foursome defeated Rivers West 6-4 in the final.

It was a seesaw battle between two great teams, but in the end Team Saskatoon squeezed out a 6-4 win over Rivers West to claim the gold medal in the men’s curling competition at the Sask. Winter Games.

Speed skaters thrill crowds at Sask. Winter Games
