Ski Timber Ridge Open for the Season

Jan 29, 2018 | 10:40 AM

After a lengthy hiatus, Ski Timber Ridge at Big River is finally open and the slopes and facilities are in great shape.

Ski Timber Ridge is the ski hill the community built.

Nestled in Saskatchewan’s northern boreal forest, located off Highway 55 just south of the town of Big River, Ski Timber Ridge awaits you. A short drive from Saskatoon or Prince Albert makes our hill a perfect escape from the city for a rejuvenating day of skiing or snowboarding.

At 300 vertical feet, the landscape’s natural beauty is exposed. Six runs ranging from 1,300 feet to 2,600 feet are spread left to right offering challenging and varied terrain for beginners and those more advanced in the sport.

When you order a cup of coffee it is served steaming hot along with a smile. Our instructors are outside having a great time in the snow, encouraging struggling newcomers in hopes the sport will become a lifelong passion as it has for them. The lift attendant is singing along to the stereo, chatting easily with everybody riding the lift.

Inside the comfortable and cozy new lodge you can warm yourself by the fire, watch the outdoor activity from our big deck or refuel with a steaming bowl of chili. Outside the slopes invite you. Strap on your board or step into skis, choose your terrain and carve it up with your friends.

If you love to ski or snowboard and live in Saskatchewan, then come visit Ski Timber Ridge. Located only 2 1/2 hours from Saskatoon and 1 1/2 hours from Prince Albert, our community run ski hill is the perfect escape.
