Canadian Challenge Dog Sled Races to Start Again at Elk Ridge

Jan 30, 2018 | 8:25 AM

We are only four weeks away from our 21st running of the Canadian Challenge Sled Dog Race.

The excitement is starting to build: trails are being checked and groomed. Mushers are starting to pick out their best dogs!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the board of the Gateway North Sled Dog Race Association, has made the decision to relocate the start line of the 2018 race, from Prince Albert to Elk Ridge Resort.

Due to last year’s melting and lack of snow, we had our first experience starting at Elk Ridge Resort in 2017. We were welcomed with open arms by the resort and their residents’ and guests. We have no doubt we can have a packed start line again this year!

We are very grateful for the continuing support of the City of Prince Albert, who has hosted the start of this race for many years.

Come out and meet the mushers at our Meet & Greet, at the Exhibition Centre, main building, in Prince Albert, on Monday, February 19, 2018!
