Walk A Mile In Her Shoes in Memory of Kevin Phillips

Apr 17, 2018 | 11:44 AM

North East Outreach and Support Services invites you to join in our “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event May 3rd from 5 – 8:00 p.m.

This year is going to be a particularly special year for us as we are honoring the late MLA Kevin Phillips. Kevin was a participant of the walk as often as he could and even if not walking he was still an instrumental figure for our Organization and our causes.

Participating in the Walk a Mile event is a public statement of support for victims of domestic and sexualized violence. Men who walk do so in four inch red heels to demonstrate their support. Men can register as a single entry or as a team of 4 – 8 members. We encourage all to bring their families and friends to walk with them, as domestic violence affects all members our community. Walk a Mile is an opportunity to show support for victims of violence and be healthy role models for all around us. We provide the shoes for the men in sizes from Size 8 to Size 15 (men’s).

This is our sixth annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event to raise money for the North East Women’s Domestic Violence Shelter and North East Outreach & Support Services programs. Please register for our event. Feel free to challenge other groups, companies, teams and individuals to participate. Promoting these challenges on your Facebook page is a great way to raise awareness and encourage others to support the walk.
