MP hopes National Indigenous Peoples Day becomes stat in 2019

With National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations underway across Canada today, Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River NDP MP Georgina Jolibois said she hopes 2018 is the last year before it becomes a statutory holiday.

Broncos coach honoured with NHL community hero award

The NHL awards in Las Vegas Wednesday night became a reunion of sorts for the survivors of the Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy.

Ten of the 13 people injured in the April 6 crash gathered on stage in their Humboldt Broncos jerseys.

More funding needed for 'inadequate' coroner’s system

Dozens of recommendations are being made to improve Saskatchewan’s coroner’s system with everything from new positions and new committees to speeding up toxicology results and having a plan around mass casualties.

The wildfire at the tip of Reindeer Lake has forced over 700 people to leave the local community. The blaze was last reported to be 3,000 hectares in size and 13 kilometres from Southend.

Southend wildfire grows to 3,000 hectares

The wildfire burning near the northern community of Southend, forcing hundreds to flee, has quickly grown and now covers 3,000 hectares, or 30 square kilometres.
