Melfort Public Health still offering free flu shots

Nov 1, 2018 | 11:51 AM

Melfort Public Health held a flu clinic at Kerry Vickar Centre for Halloween.

It’s part of the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s (SHA) flu campaign which started on Oct. 22, where flu vaccines were offered to anyone who wanted a shot.

Dr. Mohammad Khan, a medical health officer in Melfort for the Saskatchewan Health Authority, told northeastNOW flu vaccine is a sure shot to not getting infected.

“For some people influenza could be a nuisance,” Khan said. “They may get some coughing and sneezing for a while. But for some we call ‘high risk people’, old or very young, people with health conditions, or pregnant women, it could be very serious.”
