Melfort’s SLGA liquor store staying open into 2020
The privatization of the liquor store in Melfort won’t happen until at least 2020 – if it happens at all.
David Morris of the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority told northeastNOW that the Melfort location was one of 40 SLGA liquor stores that was to close as part of the provincial government’s transition to an expanded private liquor retail system.
“To date, 39 of those stores have closed,” said Morris. “The final store in Melfort was scheduled to close in the summer of 2019.”
But Morris said that schedule has now changed.
