The diamond project at Fort a la Corne will be the subject of an open house in Melfort.
Representatives from Star Diamond and Rio Tinto will be at the Kerry Vickar Centre Thursday, Feb. 7.
Community Development Manager Brent Lutz told northeastNOW it is a come-and-go event, and will run from 5 to 8 p.m.
Lutz said representatives will outline the latest on the project northwest of Melfort.
“They’re there to answer questions and just explain what’s going on at the Fort a la Corne diamond project north of the river here in Melfort. There’s some exciting work that’s taking place there,” Lutz said.
The representatives will also answer questions from the public on the diamond exploration, and any potential future opportunities for local businesses and employment.
The series of open houses starts in Prince Albert at the Coronet Hotel, Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
An open house will also take place Friday, Feb. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Nipawin Evergreen Centre.
