Feb 8, 2019 | 5:03 PM

A 35-year-old Englefeld man faces a number of impaired driving-related charges after a collision in Watson.

Humboldt RCMP were called to the crash at the junction of Highway 5 and Highway 6 at about 3:45 p.m. Feb. 7.

An eastbound sport utility vehicle collided with a southbound semi, causing severe damage to the SUV.

A child passenger in the SUV was treated on scene by EMS but was released with what were described as minor injuries.

Neither driver was injured.

The driver of the SUV was taken into custody, and was charged with impaired driving, driving over .08, and failing to obey a stop sign.

The driver will make his first court appearance March 11 in Humboldt Provincial Court.

The man’s drivers licence was suspended pending the court proceedings, and the SUV was impounded.
