The Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce appear to have short-term leadership stability.

After all seven of the Humboldt Chamber’s Board of Directors decided to stay on board, two more businessmen in the area joined the party.

Brent Walker, general manager of Humboldt Co-op, and Mike Pulice, CEO of Dzinehaus Computers, are the newest Board of Directors for the Humboldt Chamber.

“I’’ve been a member for almost 10 years, so I figure I’d try to do my part and see what I can help out with,” Pulice said.

For Walker, being on the Board of Directors is a familiar scene for him. Humboldt is his fourth Chamber of Commerce that he’s been a part of the board.

Walker has worked for Co-op for nearly 30 years and has spent time on the Board of the Directors for Chamber of Commerce’s in Mackenzie, B.C., Innisfil, Ont., and more recently in Drumheller, Albt.

Despite in the City of Humboldt for under a year, being a part of the local Chamber of Commerce is important to Walker.

“I just believe it’s a great advocacy for all the businesses to be able to voice their opinion and for us to act on behalf of the businesses of Humboldt,” Walker said. “It’s something that I’ve done in the past. I’ve really liked it, and I want to continue that.”

Dan Torwalt of Century 21 Diamond Realty will serve as the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce’s president once again, while Olivia Coffyne from Diamonds of Detroit will serve as the vice-president.
