African Children’s Choir to perform in Tisdale

Apr 2, 2019 | 9:38 AM

Music for Life is bringing the African Children’s choir to Tisdale this month.

The organization raises funds through the musical performances for impoverished vulnerable children from Africa to receive an education.

Choir Manager Tina Sipp told northeastNOW there are 17 children from Uganda in the choir that will be on stage in Tisdale.

“They’re actually representing thousands of children back home that are getting an education through the organization,” Sipp said. “They are really just the ambassadors for several hundred of children back home.”

The choir of children aged seven to 10 travels all across the world and has supported over 52,000 children in its 35-year history. The tour includes the UK, Canada and the U.S.

“We have been to Asia, Australia, Europe, we have really crossed some oceans and taken the message to some wonderful places,” Sipp said.

The concerts are not just entertainment according to Sipp.

“It’s the joy and the hope and resiliency of these children is just remarkable,” Sipp said.

The performance is set for April, 10 at the Tisdale Alliance Church at 7 p.m. Tickets are not required for the event. Donations will be accepted at the door.
