La Ronge Area Author Wins Sask Book Award
Over three hundred people gathered at the Conexus Arts Centre on April 27th to celebrate excellence in writing and publishing at the Saskatchewan Book Awards. Victor Sawa hosted the evening, and kept the audience laughing all night.
World-renowned hoop dancer Terrance Littletent shared his love of dance and storytelling with the crowd, and the Poet Laureate and Youth Poet Laureate of Saskatchewan performed their work together before the awards presentations began.
La Ronge area author Harold Johnson won the University of Saskatchewan Non-Fiction Award for his experimental memoir, Clifford. It begins with his brother’s funeral, which starts him on a journey through the past. Memory, fiction, and fantasy intertwine in this fascinating memoir.
