Sixteen combined years of service has come to a sudden end.

northeastNOW has learned that the Tisdale Trojans have parted ways with Head Coach and General Manager Darrell Mann.

Greg McShannock, president of the Trojans, confirmed to northeastNOW that Mann’s contract was up for renewal and the team decided to move in a different direction.

Multiple players for the Trojans told northeastNOW they’ve been made aware of the decision.

The 2018-19 Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL) season was Mann’s 16th with the Trojans.

In his first stint, Mann spent six seasons as an assistant from 1994-2000 and four seasons as head coach. The Trojans won four SMAAAHL championships and their one and only national midget hockey championship during that stretch.

After spending six seasons as head coach of the Melfort Mustangs in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League from 2004-10, Mann returned as head coach of the Trojans for the 2013-14 season. In six seasons during his second stint, the Trojans made it to two SMAAAHL finals, and won the Telus Cup Western Regionals and Bronze Medals at the Telus Cup in 2018-19.
