Early bird registration deadline looming for Melfort Multi-K

Early bird registration for the Melfort Multi-K is quickly approaching.

Registration is currently $25 dollars a person and will increase to $35 after May 31.

Co-organizer Allison Rogers said numbers look good so far but they encourage those wanting to participate can still save themselves a bit during early bird registration.

The numbers for the event look very good already, Rogers said.

“We’re almost at 200 people registered,” Rogers said. “The one-kilometer which is the free event for 150 kids 10 and under is about half sold and overall we’re at about 200 registered.”

The event was created to get people in the community out and active and is for all running levels.

“Don’t be intimidated at all; we have people who walk, we have people who run, we have families that walk together with strollers,” Rogers said. “Some people take it very seriously, but it is supposed to be a fun family event.”

The day is typically wrapped up by around noon on race day.

A call is also being made for volunteers for the day and days leading up to the event.

“We have close to 100 over the course of the three days and we do have return volunteers each year because it is a fun event to be a part of,” Rogers said.
