Carrot River Valley riding to choose Sask Party representative on Thursday
Members of the Saskatchewan Party in the Carrot River Valley riding will have a decision to make on June 20 in Arborfield.
A nomination meeting is to be held at the Arborfield Community Hall, where members will decide who they want to represent the riding in the 2020 election. There are two nominees this time around and Vice Chair of the Executive Committee Ambrely Ralph said it’s a good thing.
“I think it’s exciting, and its showing good support, not just for the community, but the Sask Party itself,” she said. “I know our membership has increased due to having both candidates in it, so that’s exciting as well. So I think it will be a good showcase of the potential candidates that we have in our riding.”
Members can either vote for Fred Bradshaw or Terry Youzwa to represent the party. Bradshaw has been the representative for the Sask Party in the area since 2005, and won the elections in 2007, 2011, and 2016. Meanwhile, Youzwa has been representing farmers in various capacities for roughly 25 years, including time on the Canola Council of Canada. He has also been a Councillor in Tobin Lake since 2016.
