Canada Day in Melfort

Melfort Canada Day celebrations moved indoors due to weather

Some changes are being made to the Canada Day Celebrations in Melfort that were originally scheduled to take place at Memorial Gardens.

“It’s always great to be outdoors for Canada Day,” Committee Chair Gail Marie Anderson said. “But weather, the environment, is telling us that there’s going to be thunderstorms, and possible rain showers and all sorts of stuff. So, we’re going to move into the Northern Lights Palace.”

She said all the activities will remain as planned on Monday, July 1.

The day opens with the decorated bike parade that has now been adjusted. Bikers will meet on the west side of the building and go down the ramp into the rink portion where the parade will take place.
