Nipawin engaging in traffic study

Students from L.P. Miller Comprehensive School in Nipawin have been putting on high visibility vests and assessing areas throughout the town.

It’s part of the Town of Nipawin’s recent traffic study to determine which areas in town that pedestrians are waiting the longest to cross the street.

Mayor Rennie Harper said some areas the town and students are targeting include the skate park and highway access points.

“Right now, we have some areas where we’re thinking about needing sidewalks, lights, stop signs, and moving some things,” Harper said. “There hasn’t been [a traffic study] since 2005.”
