Two local schools getting help from Indigo’s Love of Reading Foundation Adopt a School Program
A couple of local schools will be getting some help in their libraries thanks to the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation’s Adopt a School Program.
Lake Lenore School and Drake Elementary School will both benefit from the program that gives each school a 50 book registry at different Coles, Indigo, or Chapters locations. When someone purchases a book off the registry, Indigo will match it, giving the school two new copies of a book. Library Technician at Lake Lenore, Rhona Brinkman said it was a time to celebrate when they found out they would be part of the program.
“We are a small school,” she said. “Funds are always tight, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a child in a small school, you still like to read new books.”
Lake Lenore consists of about 80 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and Brinkman said it can be pricy to keep an updated library, so it’s nice to get some assistance when they can.
