Two-vehicle crash near Naicam claims life

Dec 2, 2019 | 2:39 PM

One person has been killed in a two-vehicle collision north of Naicam.

The crash happened Friday, Nov. 29 at approximately 2:30 p.m.

A pickup truck travelling south on Highway 6 crossed into the lane of an air seeder heading North.

“As a result of the collision the driver of the truck, an 88-year-old male, was located deceased at the scene,” said RCMP Cpl. Rob King. “There’s going to be an autopsy done on him later on this week, but it’s a tragic situation for the community.”

The road conditions at the time were consistent with winter travel, said King, and visibility was clear.

“We have a reconstructionist that’s going to be looking at this incident and try to determine the exact point of the collision, and all of the circumstances that may have led up to the collision,” King said.

The investigation continues.
