Santa’s Workshop taking place at Northern Lights Palace Pool on Saturday

The Northern Lights Palace Pool will be the site of some Christmas Cheer on Saturday.

The City of Melfort and the pool has decided to host a ‘Santa’s Workshop’ that will include ornament decorating, cookie decorating, and more.

“We just decided to add some extra programming to the pool this weekend to get them into the Christmas spirit,” said Recreation Programmer Shannon Marshall.

Marshall said she was approached by one of her colleagues who thought it would be a good idea to bring to the pool.

The event runs during normal public swim times between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and then again from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The activities are free for kids with their normal public swim fees.

Meanwhile, with the Christmas break approaching quickly for children in the area, Marshall said they are preparing at the pool.

“We do have extra swim times added to our public swimming schedule,” Marshall said. “And I will have those posted on social media outlets.”
