International Women's Day

NEOSS Make and Take event being held on International Women’s Day

Mar 6, 2020 | 12:00 PM

International Women’s Day is Sunday, and North East Outreach and Support Services (NEOSS) is hosting an event to celebrate.

The ‘Make and Take Event’ will start Sunday at 1 p.m. at the NEOSS boardroom.

NEOSS organizes something for each International Women’s Day, and this year’s theme is ‘Equal for Each’.

Those registered will be making a framed wood sign, with a variety of designs to choose from.

NEOSS Promotions and Awareness Coordinator Jennifer Peterson told northeastNOW the event is for everyone.

“It can be for moms and their daughters, friends, brothers, sisters, anybody who wants to come out,” Peterson said. “We’ll have all the supplies there they need, they’ll make a nice wood sign that they can make and take home with them.”

Peterson said people seem interested in making wood signs at the moment. She said the design will be something related to women, or being yourself.

“They’re all going to relate to the day and what the theme is,” Peterson said.

NEOSS has branched out in the past few years, but Peterson said supporting women is where they started and is still their main focus.

Registration is $45, and you can call 306-752-9464 or email adm@neoss.ca to book your spot.
