Northern Lights School Division Update

Dear Parents and Guardians

The Government of Saskatchewan announced that all classes from pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 will be suspended indefinitely, effective Friday, March 20, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The school closures will reduce further spread of the illness.

The following measures are in effect as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020:

•Pre-K –Grade 12 classes will wind down Tuesday through Thursday.

•Families are encouraged to keep students home during the wind down.

There will be no penalty for students staying home.

•Please take home student essential belongings.

It is unknown when students will have the opportunity to collect items from the school once we close.

The following measures will be in effect as of Friday, March 20, 2020

:•All schools will be closed to students until further notice.

•All students will receive a final grade based on their current grade

.•Students will progress to their next grade level for 2020-2021

.•All students eligible to graduate from Grade 12 this year will graduate.

•The Ministry of Education and school divisions will work with Saskatchewan Post-Secondary Institutions to adapt entry requirements for programs commencing in the next academic year.

Over the coming days our division will work with the Ministry of Education to make plans to implement education supports and opportunities for students during the closure.
