Mayor of Melfort thankful for local efforts in fighting spread of COVID-19
The City of Melfort is recognizing the efforts of many during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Rick Lang said while city hall remains closed to the public, employees are working hard to maintain public services throughout the outbreak.
“Our number one concern is to protect our public and our staff,” Lang told northeastNOW. “In order to protect the public, we have closed our city facilities and our parks and playgrounds.”
He said they are protecting staff so they remain healthy and are available to serve the community. There are new protocols for the public to be able to access city services, and Lang said they’re trying to find ways to provide regular services while maintaining social distancing.
