City of Melfort makes changes to Capital Budget
The City of Melfort has approved a bit of a change to their 2020 Capital Budget.
At their regular meeting on Monday, held via video conference, Council approved to shuffle a couple of projects around in the budget. Four projects are somewhat affected by the changes. The City was planning to do some watermain replacements on the 700 block of Main Street, the 300 block of Burrows Avenue East, and the rear lane of the 200 block of Saskatchewan Drive East.
“Unfortunately, as a composite, they came in over budget,” Mayor Rick Lang told northeastNOW. “So in order to fund a portion of these, we have decided to defer one of the projects.”
The project being deferred is the Highway 3 Waterline Extension set to cost $112,413. That project will still go ahead at some point.
