SaskCyberParks: Get Outdoors!

Apr 8, 2020 | 10:49 AM

Create your own Nature Journal to help you explore your backyard or your neighborhood!

Grab some scrap paper and use the example shown here to draw your own Nature Data Sheet.

Next, explore your backyard, building grounds, or neighborhood (while making sure to practice safe social distancing) and look for signs of nature in your area!

Some things to look for are: clouds in the sky, birds, or signs of wildlife such as tracks, seeds, scat (poop), nests or holes. Record your experiences on your data sheet and feel encouraged to include drawings of your discoveries!

Remember to post a photo of your finished product as well as photos of you and your family exploring your area.

Stay tuned for future installments of Get Outdoors, where we will share opportunities to grow your Nature Journal through outdoor experiences to help you learn about the diversity and beauty of nature right where you live!
