Pregnant doe shot and left near Weldon

Conservation officers are looking for your help to solve the shooting of a pregnant mule deer doe near Weldon.

Melfort conservation officers received a Turn in Poachers (TIP) call on June 8 about a gut pile dumped on an approach five km east of Weldon.

It’s believed the remains were dumped June 7, and officers determined the doe had been shot a day or two before that.

Officers did collect some evidence at the scene.

There was no deer season on at the time, and it’s unlawful to dispose of animal parts on private land without permission.

A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for this incident.

Anyone with information can call the provincial TIP line at 1-800-667-7561.

Calls are not traced or recorded, and callers can remain anonymous.
