Sep 1, 2020 | 5:22 PM

Plans are in the works for a new Francophone school to be located in north Regina.

The pre-kindergarten to Grade 6 school is expected to have room for 350 students. The Saskatchewan government said in a media release that will reduce enrolment pressures on École Monseigneur de Laval Pavillion élémentaire school in Regina’s south end.

“Today is a major day for Regina’s Francophone communities, as we take another step toward increasing the learning opportunities for all of our students,” Education Minister Gord Wyant said in the release.

“Our province’s Francophone communities have a rich history, and it is important that we continue to support that by providing quality education to Saskatchewan’s French students.”
