Renew U Fitness to open women’s only private training studio in Melfort Wellness Centre

Oct 14, 2020 | 12:02 PM

A local certified personal trainer is opening a private training studio for women in the Melfort Wellness Centre.

Britt Meyers began Renew U Fitness a few years as an online platform with online challenges and fitness training but having a physical space for clients was a dream she had for herself.

“I really love being able to connect with women and people in-person and so that is what drove me to open a space where I can do just that,” Meyers said.

Along with one-on-one personal training, Meyers will also offer group fitness and specialty classes, and nutrition coaching.

“It’s a space where it’s women only and you show up, you get a fitness class provided for you and then you can leave feeling accomplished,” Meyers said.

If all goes well, the space will open during the second week of November.

Meyers made the announcement of the new women’s only space on her social media on Tuesday and the response so far has been great.

Owner of Renew U Fitness Britt Meyers announced to her followers on Tuesday that she will be opening a women’s only private training studio in November.

“Women want to show up, get a good workout in, and leave knowing that they feel effective, efficient, and got a good sweat session in without having to think about what they are doing,” Meyers said.

The virtual portion of Renew U Fitness really took off during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic with gyms being closed and people being at home and having more time to focus on themselves.

With more businesses moving to online platforms, Meyers had considered delaying the opening of her space with the public health restrictions.

“My space will be small group classes so I don’t see it being an issue, in the future or currently because I won’t be a large capacity space,” Meyers said.

Scheduling for classes will be set up on the Mindbody app but more details on that will be available in coming weeks on her website and social media pages.

“My clients will be able to just go on an app, sign up for the classes to create that ease of being able to schedule in your own classes,” Meyers said.

There will be classes offered for pre-natal and post-natal clients, sports conditioning for girls and specialty boot camps.

Part of the Renew U Fitness experience is online community that has been formed and that will continue.

“Those out of town people will still be able to work with me in a more personalized way but of course look forward to some of them meeting me in-person as well,” Meyers said.

Meyers recently began selling white graphic T-shirts that read ‘Babes Supporting Babes’ with 50 per cent of proceeds to go toward North East Outreach Support Services (NEOSS). The shirts are available on the Renew U Fitness website.

Renew U Fitness Personal Training will be located in the space next to Family Physicians in the Wellness Centre.

“I am so excited and can’t wait to see the women that walk through my door and that I get the opportunity to work with them,” she said.
