Wakaw Lake Fire
No injuries after wildland and structure fire at Wakaw Lake

A Saturday afternoon fire at Wakaw Lake had crews on the scene for several hours.
Firefighters with Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue were called to a structure fire and and an out of control wildland fire at around 3 p.m. Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed. The wildland fire was about one kilometre from the structure when crews arrived.
Cudworth/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue as well as the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency were also called to assist and crews were able to protect the structures in close proximity to stop the fire from spreading.
The occupants of the house were able to safely evacuate and there were no injuries. The total damage is unknown at this time.
