Nov 8, 2020 | 1:39 PM

Following seven cases of COVID-19 in the community as of Nov. 7, James Smith Cree Nation has encouraged and enforced more health precautions.

A release issued by Chief Wally Burns and James Smith Cree Nation’s pandemic committee stated a curfew is now in place from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Security will be set up around the community to monitor essential travel.

Members are also encouraged to limit visiting from house to house, stay home as much as possible, and limit travel to outside the community.

“Please keep in mind that keeping our community safe is everyone’s responsibility,” Burns stated. “I appeal to everyone to respect individuals’ privacy and confidentiality as our members go through their healing and 14-day isolation.”
