Nipawin Mayor Rennie Harper wins re-election
Rennie Harper will have a second term to serve as the Town of Nipawin’s mayor.
According to unofficial results from the town, the incumbent mayor received 373 votes, ahead of second place Brian Starkell who had 316, and third place Marlon Zacharias who had 248.
Harper said she’s humbled Nipawin residents voted to give her a second term and proud of the residents who voted in spite of poor weather conditions.
“I’m more excited than I was even the first time I was elected,” Harper told northeastNOW. “I talked a lot about wanting to continue some of the things we started. One of those things is hopefully the heliport. I look forward to the opportunity to perhaps see that to completion. With that in mind, and a few other things we started… it somehow is the topping to it all.”
