Outdoor Fun at Barbers Pond – Nipawin

With the opening of Barbers Pond to skaters, all patrons need to be aware that pond ice is different than Outdoor arena ice.
The ice is thicker and moves and shifts more often, creating the chance of more cracks and air pockets than the traditional ice surfaces.
The Parks and Rec staff will be flooding with hot water as the season goes on to remove these obstacles.
Without Skating on the ice it is not possible to find these issues and repair them. We want people to get out and use Barbers pond so we can have the best ice conditions around.
